ACCOMODATIONS
In Reykjavik we will spend several nights in the heart of the downtown with plenty of activities nearby to occupy your free time, not that you'll have too much.
We won't be in Reykjavik long, venturing out to Thorsmork National Park to spend the night glamping under the stars in a valley alongside glacial streams and with incredible views of the surrounding peaks. We will also spend a night at the Frost and Fire, a boutique Nordic style hotel alongside the Varma River.

Kevin Irish
Born in Delaware and a current resident of DC, Kevin likes to run fast and travel slow. He holds a NOLS Wilderness First Aid certificate and his last three trips were to Patagonia, Yosemite, and Banff. His ideal vacation includes a hike, a food tour, and an opportunity to give back to the communities he visits. Oh, and ice cream.

REVIEWS OF ICELAND
My Open World Racing trip to Korcula, Croatia in April was the culmination of months and months of training in my fitness journey. I began that training with a personal trainer in anticipation of my 40th birthday. You’re never too old to redirect your health and well being! This is a lifestyle.
There were a lot of firsts on this trip. Traveling to a Europe was a first, kayaking was a first, swimming in open water, and participating in a triathlon was a first. With the help of our local tour guide and Andrew it was a truly exhilarating experience. Every moment of the trip was carefully planned and well thought out. There was never a dull moment.
We hiked, biked, swam, sailed and kayaked our way all over the breath taking region of Korcula. The culture, scenery and cuisine were incorporated into all aspects of the OWR trip. We got to tour a local winery, monastery and dine at a family run farm. We sailed in the harbor of Korcula while watching the sunset and drinking champagne. Our experiences touched all the senses in every way.
The culmination of the adventure was the Marco Polo Triathlon. OWR made all the arrangements for the race so we simply had to show up. Show up and race! Andrew helped prepare us every day leading up to the race. His expert tips and confidence eased the race day jitters.
There are not enough words to describe every exquisite detail of the trip with OWR to Korcula, Croatia. I am planning another adventure with the numerous opportunities OWR has in the future.
